Ragnhild May (b. 1988, Denmark) graduated with an MFA from Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts, Bard College, New York and is completing her Ph.D in Artist Research at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Copenhagen. May works as a visual artist and combines different media such as sound, sculpture, video, installation, and performance with conceptual rigor, sensitivity and humor. Her work encompasses technology, science fiction, feminism, and sound theory. The use of sound within a context of visual art is of particular significance to her practice, as her work draws on the specificity and history of sound.
